Issues


No Tax Increases

Count on a NO vote for anything that will increase Indiana Property, Sales, and Income taxes. All of us are already burdened with increased inflation and a depressed economy. Lets not put anymore burdens on the backs of our fellow Hoosiers.


Stop the South Shore Extension

After we spend $1,000,000,000.00 (Billion) dollars in taxes to buy the train,
we get to pay operating cost forever, subsidizing riders.

Politicians claim the train can be built with, "No New Taxes" If they were really being honest, they should mean, NO Train = Lower Taxes!



Care for the Aging Hoosiers

We should be preparing for the inescapable health-care costs.
Seniors are more important than a politician's pet project.



Debt is a financial killer

You and I can not live on credit cards and debt. Neither should Indiana. Today's expenditures and bond issues are today's debt and tomorrow's taxes. By running a deficit it shifts collecting taxes today to collecting taxes tomorrow.


Abortion

 I’m a strong believer in life and I’m very prolife. The only reason I can see to end a pregnancy is when it risks the mother’s life. And no Doctor or government official can make that decision only the family can make such a decision.

Roe vs. Wade was decide on the matter of privacy (Doctor vs. Patient privacy). If a person was to attempt to or kill another, no right of privacy can protect the guilty! So Roe vs. Wade is decided on the wrong idea and principal.

The Fifth Amendment states: "No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property!"
The Fourteenth Amendment states:
"nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;" So that makes murder of a person a crime and any law allowing it Unconstitutional!

Then the argument of when life starts:
I say that doesn’t matter when life starts according to the Constitution. So lets find out why:

Let's take a look at the preamble to the Constitution:

 We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

"And secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity"

The definition of Posterity: posterity n. 1. Future generations. 2. All of a person's descendants.
If they used either term descendants or generations you could argue the idea of when life starts.
But the founders didn’t use any of those terms they used Posterity, and doing so the argument of when life starts is mute and doesn’t matter, since all generations including all future generations shall not be deprived of Life, Liberty or Property!


Education

I believe that many choices to parents should be available, so they can choose what is best for them and their children. Those choices should not be restricted by the state. It maybe sending them to traditional classroom, virtual school, charter school, home school or a private school. Parents need to have the best option for their children available to them even if it includes a mix on any of the above choices.
 


Marriage

God ordained marriage, government licensed it!
Therefore what business does the government have to be involved in a religious matter?

The marriage license in the United States states: "that the state has an overriding right, on behalf of all citizens, to protect them from disease or improper/Illegal marriages, to keep state records, and to ensure that marriage partners have an adequate time to think carefully before marrying, in the interests of the larger social welfare."

Black's Law Dictionary defines "license" as, "The permission by competent authority to do an act which without such permission would be illegal." Thus making a right a privilege!

Actually when you look at the history of the marriage license you will find that it was because of racism. The concept of Marriage Licenses was introduced in the 1920’s when 38 states prohibited whites from marrying blacks, Mulattos, Japanese, Chinese, Indians, Mongolians, Malays, or Filipinos without the state approved license. Thus changing the fundamentally institution of marriage, a private contract was exchanged for a public contract and the state entered as a third party in the marriage contract.


Second Amendment

I believe the Second Amendment clearly states that individuals have a right to keep and bear arms. The whole point of the Bill of Rights was to specifically state the rights of the individual in our Constitution. The founding fathers believed so strongly in the right to keep and bear arms that it came in only behind freedom of speech in importance. You and I both know that the amendment has absolutely nothing to do with owning arms for the purpose of hunting. It’s about something much more serious than that.


Labor Unions

I believe that it is a right of any worker to organize, participate, and be part of a union!
So the same goes for the worker that wants to negotiate without an organized union. He should also have the same right.


 

The Constitution

I would say that I’m a strict Constitutionalist!

I believe in freedom and Liberty. All rights belong to the people as stated in the 10th Amendment, except for the powers we delegated to the Government through the Constitution. The Constitution is not a living document; it was written with exact meaning. If one is not sure on that meaning there are several things that can be read to find out the exact meaning, such as the Federalist papers. Just because a word or meaning has changed over the years doesn’t mean that the same use of that word in the Constitution changes the meaning of the Constitution.

If things need to be changed because the views or ideas change you must first amend the Constitution, not find ways to reinterpret it.

Constitutionalism- n -s 1: the doctrine or system of government in which the governing power is limited by enforceable rules of law and concentration of power is limited by various checks and balances so that the basic rights of individuals and groups are protected 2: adherence to the principals of constitutionalism (Webster's Third New International Dictionary (unabridged))
